Running away, changing my identity and starting a new life has always been a fantasy for me. This concept of restarting life on a blank canvas is always in the back of my mind. While the people I love and connect with prevent me from doing that completely, this song serves as a metaphor for the way I have severed ties from relationships that do not serve me. Although my hair is still blonde and my name is Kendall, I have spiritually cut the cord with people and places and grown substantially since. “I am not the girl you used to know”.
